IFSEC 2011: Y3K will use J2K Video’s SharpView platform for recording it’s Xvision range of HD and megapixel cameras.

Y3K selected SharpView after ‘exhaustive’ testing of NVR and VMS systems on the market.

“We wanted a highly reliable product that could cope with several HD1080p cameras at once and SharpView was the only system that held up to the exhaustive testing during our trials,” said Paul Singh, sales director of Y3K.

“We found the software really easy to use with excellent features designed for megapixel video included as standard”.

Using J2K Video’s SharpView NVR and VMS software and will allow Y3K customers to design and build systems that are fit for purpose without having to pay ‘erroneous licensing costs’ that are commonly found with enterprise grade VMS suppliers, the company said. “The integration of alarms, intercoms and CCTV using an excellent mapping plug-in provides users with a single security platform that is leading the way in megapixel video applications”.

Jay M Patel, managing director of J2K Video commented, “we are pleased that Y3K has chosen SharpView to launch it’s Xvision range of HD CCTV cameras and look forward to working with a leading CCTV technology distributor.”

Using JVC’s VN-X235U megapixel dome cameras, the system records all activity at the public entrances of the centre, day and night.

Their existing system failed to provide usable evidence and was of little use to the Police, however with SharpView all suspects are clearly identifiable and provides the quality of video that is more than sufficient to identify suspects who enter the centre. Click here for more on this CCTV solution

Following an extensive survey, J2K Video’s SharpView system has proven to beat all rivals in terms of costs and performance for implementation of large systems requiring more than 30 cameras including HD and Megapixel CCTV. Download report from here.

SharpView’s efficiency in design allows users to create systems that are less than half the price of leading brands. Not only saving money in terms of equipment and software costs, but electricity bills are slashed due to reduced power consumption.

Jay Patel author of the article, points out that the days of compromising on the quality of CCTV recordings is over. SharpView allows security systems to be designed to make full use of the high video quality delivered by cameras – without the need for high compression and reducing frame rates.

J2K Video breaks down barriers for adopting HD, Megapixel CCTV

Compared with mainstream video recorders from established brands, J2K Video’s SharpView Corporate system costs no more than top selling 16-channel DVR machines with 4TB of storage. Therefore users of SharpView can record from HD 1080p and other Megapixel cameras at the same price as DVRs from leading manufacturers, most of which cannot record the higher resolution evidential quality video.

Major brands recommend the use of several of their units for recording megapixel CCTV as each cannot cope with throughput. However, the World’s fastest recording engine SharpView, addresses this issue which is the main reason that has delayed the adoption of HD, megapixel CCTV.

Capable of recording over 60 HD 1080p cameras all at full resolution and frame rates simultaneously in a single recorder, means that using SharpView, the cost of recording evidential quality CCTV is now the same as that for recording PAL/NTSC cameras.

Read the summary here

SharpView Corporate NVR is available with 16TB of storage and supplied with SharpView Manager Professional software for a complete security system for the next generation CCTV cameras. Conventional PAL/NTSC cameras can also be recorded in SharpView using D1, 25/30fps encoders, thereby allowing seamless migration to IP and the world of HD CCTV.

SharpView Manager displays the coordinates in the linked video channel view and with just one click of the mouse, the location can be seen on Google Maps. This addition to the SharpView System allows operators at remote command centres to coordinate the positions of their mobile video systems and have real-time views from their precise locations.

Used on rail networks and other public transport systems, route planning can be made much easier and operators can see exactly where their vehicles are and avoid delays as necessary.

Shipments with the GPS/GPRS boards are scheduled for April 2010. Contact J2K Video for more details.

Zepha Security have installed SharpView Corporate as part of a major CCTV upgrade at the Central London site of a World renowned University.

University entrance

The brief was to improve the image quality in key areas on Campus, so Zepha Security demonstrated video recordings provided by J2K Video which were made at the headquarters of a major bank in the City of London using J2K Video’s SharpView system. On seeing the quality, the Head of Security commissioned Zepha to install the J2K Video system alongside their existing PAL based CCTV.

University library

Zepha Security’s Technical Director, Akin Ozdamar is quoted as saying ”J2K Video’s Megapixel technology features extremely clear image presentation, which has enabled us to meet our client’s demanding expectations.” He adds, “the SharpView Manager software is easy to use and incorporates a zoom facility for close up views and clarity.”

The Head of Security at the University said, “as a proponent of advanced technology, I knew that using Megapixel CCTV like SharpView was the only way that we could get the best return from every camera installed.” He added, “our existing system was upgraded to digital recording but the quality of video was little improved, but as a result of Zepha’s demonstration, it was obvious that a further upgrade to Megapixel was a more appropriate option than adding several dozens of more normal cameras.”

J2K Video supplied a SharpView Corporate Solution that includes SVR-64N network video recorders with 12,000GB of RAID storage together with several AV5100DN, Arecont Vision 5 Megapixel day night cameras. The system is managed and controlled using SharpView Manager Professional which allows the University’s security staff to immediately download incidents to DVD in common media formats such as avi.
